This clinic teaches the fundamentals of bolting new sport routes, including regulations, route selection, equipment use, drilling techniques, rope ascension, and route cleaning, culminating in participants bolting and naming a new route.

Full Overview: Led by Denver Mountain Guiding Owner, Kevin Capps, participants will explore the rules and ethics of bolting in Colorado, as well as key considerations before drilling. The course covers selecting a route, using essential equipment like drills and bolts, proper hole drilling and bolt placement, working from a fixed line, and cleaning a route. Rope ascension techniques will also be taught, and every participant will have the opportunity to contribute to bolting, cleaning, and naming a new route in the canyon. This clinic maintains a maximum 4:1 participant-to-guide ratio.
Pricing:
- 1 person: $480
- 2 people: $270 each
- 3 people: $180 each
- 4 people: $150 each
Prerequisites: Must have a genuine love for climbing and know how to top rope belay
Equipment: Please bring any personal gear you have, including a helmet, harness, climbing shoes, chalk bag, belay device; all additional materials needed will be provided.
