Hey! I’m Tim, the founder of ShayrdAir - a Denver-based learning platform that offers digital and in-person instruction with the world’s best climbers
A little about our company and me: Even before I found climbing, I had an adventurous spirit. By the time I was 26, I had worked in India, Malawi, and Jordan and lived in China on and off for about three years.
Eventually, I moved to New York City to pursue an MBA at Columbia. During my second year, I asked friends if they wanted to see "Free Solo," an Oscar winning documentary about Alex Honnold. After that showing, I saw the film two more times in theatres. There was something about it: the aesthetics, the focus, the risk and the reward. From then on, I wanted to learn how to climb, but I didn’t know where to start.
Through a fortunate turn of events, I met Jordan Cannon, a pro climber who, like Alex, is well-known for climbing in Yosemite. After an insightful conversation over lunch, Jordan agreed to become my climbing mentor.
Since Jordan lives out of his van most of the year, we had to get creative and use a combination of videos, Zoom calls, and in-person lessons to keep me moving in the right direction. The more we worked together, the more I thought other climbers would want to have a similar experience. From that intuition, I founded ShayrdAir.
Whether you have always wanted to climb like me and don’t know where to start or have always wanted to get into the alpine and climb a big wall, we’re here to help - building digital and in-person programs that offer mentorship from pros, clinics and experiences with our industry partners, and a community of peers you can rely on for years to come.
